tucsongardenrailwaysocietyOur Railroad Display

Because of the generosity of the Tucson Garden Railway Society (TGRS) we have recently expanded our railroad displays to include a fully functioning ‘G’ gauge model steam locomotive, cars, and a diorama typifying what Tucson would have looked like soon after the first trains appeared in 1880.

Complete with cattle sounds, honky-tonk saloon music, mission bells, and Mexican music, the display is a treasure built to recreate Tucson directly after the first train’s arrival.

TGRS members built the buildings and designed the layout using photos and other historic data, keeping it true to the time.

We’ve also been able to display our collection of railroad related tools and items around the layout.
